EARLY SPRING 2005 SCENES

Great Blue Herons are common along the streams and pond edges at the Prairie Garden Trust. They returned from wintering areas in March.

 

Wild plum thickets dot the edges of fields and draws. They provide lots of food and cover for wildlife.

 

Harbinger of Spring is one of the earliest blooming spring wildflowers. This was was blooming in late March and early April. This is a tiny plant with flowers that look like dots of color on the ground.
