Spring 06 Scenes from the Prairie Garden Trust

When the lid of one of the many bluebird nest boxes was lifted, the very young bluebirds expected a parent and opened wide to be fed.

This great egret showed up this spring in the middle of an active great blue heron rookery here. Like the heron, they're colonial nesters and will share a mixed colony.

This view of the spring forest was taken from a rocky point overlooking Hiller's Creek valley.
